Consider requesting a room away from the pub for a quieter experience, especially during weekends.

nice atmosphere but service could be improved
The hotel has a charming ambiance, reflecting its rich history, which really stood out during my stay. The restaurant offerings were delightful, especially Mike's Place, where the food was exceptional. I enjoyed the fantastic city view from my double room, which added to the overall experience.
However, the service at times felt a bit slow, which detracted from the overall enjoyment.

The final verdict on this
A beautifully renovated, historic hotel that captures the charm of the past. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with fantastic service from the friendly staff. Enjoy cozy vibes in the dining area and delicious, complimentary breakfast. Centrally located, it's perfect for exploring nearby attractions. Just a slight noise concern for light sleepers, but it’s worth it!

Historic hotel with a well-preserved atmosphere.
After prebooking for months and requesting a quiet room, I was informed the day before that my room was above the pub, forcing me to upgrade at an exorbitant price. The replacement room smelled musty, the decor looked outdated, and the bedding was uncomfortable with a heavy duvet instead of something appropriate for the season.

The Hume Hotel & Spa has a fantastic historic charm and modern amenities. I loved the comfortable king-sized bed with quality linens. The room had a cozy fireplace, fridge, and coffee maker, which added a nice touch. The included made-to-order breakfast was exceptional, and the staff in the restaurant were friendly and attentive. I enjoyed the evening atmosphere in the Library Lounge, where I had a delightful meal accompanied by live music. The location is perfect for exploring Nelson. everything is within walking distance, including quaint shops and the riverfront. The spa services looked inviting, but I didn't have a chance to use them. The parking situation is less than ideal. the adjacent parkade costs $12 per day, and it can be tricky if you arrive late. I found some noise from the bar lively, but it might be bothersome if you're trying to sleep early. The main entrance has several steps, which isn't very convenient for those with heavy luggage. An alternative entrance nearby could help ease that travel stress. Overall, the unique character and excellent service made it a memorable stay.

I had an incredible stay with breathtaking views from my room that showcased the beauty of Nelson. The front desk staff, especially Greg, provided outstanding service, making me feel welcomed from the moment I arrived. The breakfast was delightful, and I absolutely loved my couples massage at the spa. However, the parking situation could be improved, as it was outside and felt a bit sketchy.
